PCC Vision
For the congregation of St Mary’s to celebrate the love of God openly and inclusively, and to grow in faith and numbers and in mission
PCC Objectives
- Provide a range of worship which is vibrant and affirming. Underpinning this objective are our beliefs that:
- worship is the single most important role of the church, from which all else emanates;
- we are one worshipping community. Our three (very different) Sunday morning services are of equal importance
- Welcome and support people of all ages and Christian traditions, through:
- a. Providing a supportive ethos for our established membership, including through education, nurture and pastoral support
b. Welcoming and encouraging newcomers and visitors
c. Establishing a professional and comprehensive programme of youth work to meet the needs of young people aged 14 to 18 in St Mary’s and the Barnes team
d. Expanding activities for children and the number of children enjoying them; and being well known in the diocese for provision of children’s work
- Have a clear and vigorous programme for mission in our community and overseas, drawing on Joseph Ayok's experience and support, and to which the congregation is committed
- Play a full part in the Barnes Anglican Team and Churches Together in Barnes
- Put St Mary’s on a secure financial and administrative footing, to ensure that our other objectives can be achieved
