The Friends of St Mary's Barnes aim to raise awareness of the church, which is the oldest building in Barnes dating back to 1100 as well as an award winning piece of contemporary architecture, and to raise funds for its upkeep and renovation

We run a series of events every year including concerts, lectures and exhibitions and everyone coming to these events is regarded as a "friend". Barnes celebrities who have taken part in recent years include Tim Rice, Gyles Brandreth, Aled Jones, Patricia Hodge, Chris Patten and Peter Snow. Funds raised have been used to pay for a new heating system, floodlighting, stone paving, notice boards, the induction loop, the engraved glass door and repairs to the tower, weathervane, clock and churchyard

The Friends of St Mary's Barnes are led by an Advisory Council made up of people in the congregation and in the wider community of Barnes. If you wish to make a donation or receive more information, please contact the chairman Andrew Summers at friends@stmarybarnes.org
