Donate & Support your Community
A financial commitment to the church recognises the role St Mary’s plays in our lives and its broader role within the local community. We are encouraged to contribute in proportion to our ability.

Please also register for Gift Aid if possible (download the form).

Legacies & Wills
- Legacy gifts can help fund significant development projects in the parish, whether buildings, equipment or staff
- The Legacy Policy of our PCC confirms that, however large or small, they will use your gift for a special project, not simply to fund operating costs.
- We will discuss with executors the most appropriate use of the money bearing in mind your known areas of interest in the church (eg children & youth, music, buildings, overseas mission or aid) and the church’s priorities at the time.
- Make a Will if you have not already done so. The Church of England has partnered with Farewill will-writers, so anyone can write a simple will online, in as little as 30 minutes, for free.
- For a more complicated wills, or if you are reviewing your existing will or adding a codicil, you may want to investigate local options.
Suggesting wording for your will
“I give ___% of my residuary estate OR I give the sum of £___(pounds only) free of all taxes to the Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St Mary, Barnes in the Diocese of Southwark for its general purposes, and I declare that the receipt of an officer of the Parochial Church Council shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors and trustees”
Gift Aid + 25%
If you are a UK tax payer, at no cost to yourself, we can claim.
In addition, you may benefit if you are a higher rate tax payer by having the amount taxed at higher rate reduced by the amount of the donation, and taxed at basic rate instead.
In order for us to do this we will require a Gift Aid declaration: a form may be downloaded here
