We are delighted to announce that in consulation with the Parish Representatives, Team Rector and Team Vicar of St Mary’s and St Michael and All Angels, the Bishop of Southwark has appointed the Rev’d James Marston to be Associate Priest in the Barnes Team serving the parishes of St Mary and St Michael & All Angels, subject to the usual legal formalities.

James is currently Assistant Curate at Alde Sandings, Aldeburgh in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. A former journalist, James was trained for Holy Orders at Westcott House in Cambridge where he studied theology ministry and mission. Ordained deacon in 2019 and priest in 2020, James served his curacy at Aldeburgh on the east coast. James’ interests include liturgy, music and church history as well as community engagement. In his spare time James enjoys museums, current affairs, theatre and history. James looks forward to being part of the worshipping and other communities in Barnes.

We will be welcoming Rev’d James Marston at the 10am service on Sunday 4th December. He will be officially licenced at a 6pm service at St Michael’s & All Angels later that day.
