Friends Annual Choral Evensong Sunday 13 October 6pm with the Venerable Sheila Watson as guest speaker. She was one of the first women to be ordained in the Church of England and is now at Lincoln’s Inn and a Canon of St Paul’s Cathedral. She was until recently the Archdeacon of Canterbury where she had the distinction of being the first woman to install the new Archbishop of Canterbury on his throne. Fine choral music will be performed by the Choir of St Mary’s Barnes directed by Henry Chandler and the service is followed by a reception to which all are welcome.
