In 2009 our income turned out to be less than we had hoped and we have very low reserves. So for 2010 we have had to cut back our spending. We can no longer afford a parish administrator, nor a Children’s Pastor, and both these posts will now have to be covered by rotas of volunteers – to whom we are very grateful
We now need to increase our income – to give us some security for maintaining our church, and to enable us to do more to support our congregation and our mission in Barnes
We get no funds from “outside” to subsidise us. Indeed as one of the richest churches in the diocese we are rightly asked to contribute towards the costs of churches in inner London which have few resources but many challenges
So we are asking all our members to give us a regular donation to support our work. 170 of us currently do, and we ask everyone to join in at whatever amount you can afford
More information about our finances is here
Please print the form and fill it in with your response to the appeal. There is a Gift Aid declaration included on it so if you pay income tax please sign it so we can reclaim the tax on your donation. It gives us a crucial extra 28% of the amount you give
Please return the whole form to the Gift Aid Secretary, at St Mary’s Church Office, Church Road, Barnes, London SW13 9HL
And if you require any further clarification please email Peter Boyling
If you are not a member of St Mary’s but you visit from time to time, please Gift Aid your donation to our work - if you pay tax. Just put your money in one of our white envelopes and put your contact details on the front. We can then get the tax refund from the Government at no cost to yourself
