'It grounds our daily life in our community, and with our family and friends. It encourages a helpful daily discipline both for prayer and for Bible reading; and if we’re struggling with either it provides focus and backup. The quiet and often sun-filled Langton Chapel offers a wonderful sense of the spiritual'. Ecumenical Study and Prayer Group for Barnes Wednesdays: 9.30 - 11.00 am A group from different local churches who meet in each other's homes to dig a bit deeper in the Bible (John's Thursdays 11.15 - 11. 45 am in the Langton Chapel Quiet Time First Tuesday of each month: 7.00 - 9.00 pm Holy Trinity Church Space To Be An opportunity to care about ourselves through space for calm and

up to the age of 10 (Year 6). All is free with a suggested tariff for food Sunday July 6th – Visit from the Diocese of Matabeleland, Zimbabwe In the run-up to the Lambeth Conference (which is held in July this year at Canterbury and will see most of the bishops of the Anglican Communion gathering for their decennial meeting), we will be hosting a visit from the Kingston Area’s link diocese of Matabeleland in Zimbabwe. The Bishop and his wife, together with the Vicar-General (the Bishop’s deputy) and Archdeacon will be staying in Barnes between July 3rd and 10th and will be taking part in the services on July 6th. The Bishop will be preaching in the morning and the Vicar-General at Choral Evensong at 6pm. There will then be a reception in the churchyard with refreshments and finger food for them all to meet us. You will all be aware of the increasing trouble afflicting Zimbabwe (and perhaps of the persecution being meted out on the Anglican Church). Their lives and ministries are incredibly difficult and they show, I believe, a profound courage and inspirational faith. I hope you will want to come and offer your support and hear what they say. We will be offering the collections at the 10, 11.30 and 6pm services to the church in Zimbabwe. They have quite a full programme during their visit, but if anyone would like to host a dinner or lunch (or even a theatre visit) for them, I would be delighted to hear from you. I would also appreciate an offer of accommodation for two of them (bed and breakfast) for the week they are here.
