Cameron Burns is Director of Music and Organist at St. Mary's Church Barnes. He is currently studying with Graham Johnson and receiving opera coaching from Martin Isepp.


He began his initial musical training as an organist, holding positions at Chelsea Old Church, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, New College, Oxford and Holy Trinity, Sloane Street. He gained his ARCO at the age of 17, was tutor of the BBC Club Organ Society and has performed both on BBC radio and television. Notable performances include the Poulenc Organ Concerto with the Orchestra of St. John's Smith under John Lubbock, the world premiere of Thomas Adés' 'Amen' last year in King's College, Cambridge with Pegasus Choir and recording of of Karl Jenkins' 'The Armed Man' with Nicky Spence for Brass Band Aid.


Cameron was both an organ and academic scholar at New College, Oxford. He recommenced piano lessons with Raymond Fischer (RCM) in 2003 which culminated in a starred-first for his final performance exam.


He now collaborates with both singers and instrumentalists. Major engagements include his Wigmore Hall debut with tenor Andrew O'Brien, a heavy involvement in the Chelsea Schubert Festival and a European Tour with his violin duo partner Peronnik Topp, a recording of which was released on the FRS label. With the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme he has played with the Britten-Pears Orchestra, accompanied masterclasses in the Aldeburgh Festival with Michael Chance, and will be partaking on a contemporary music course with Oliver Knussen and Colin Matthews in July. In August he returns to be repetiteur for a concert performance of Don Giovanni with Richard Edgar.


As a repetituer and accompanist he has worked with Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, New Chamber Opera, Oxford City Opera, Handmade Opera, Opera Restored, Mahogany Opera, Vivace Arts (Berlin), Bromley Youth Music Trust, London Concert Choir, University of London Choir, Imperial College Chamber Choir, P&O Cruises (on board the ill-fated 'Aurora'), Westminster Choral Project and Lewisham Choral Society. Festivals appearances include Aldeburgh, Three Choirs, Oundle, Chelsea and the Chelsea Schubert.
